Safety,
safety and more on safety!
What
not to do!
Please be careful not to use any of our aromatherapy
products in your canine's eyes or nose. No matter
how natural our products are, Essential Oils contain
chemical properties and should always be used sensibly.
Our aromatherapy products are for external use
only!
Never
use our canine aromatherapy products on cats, birds,
ferrets etc. Each species can tolerate essential
oils in a different way and some just cannot at
all. You
should never use essential oils near your birds,
on your birds nor ever diffuse oils near
them.
We
have heard of a Nanday Conure's terrible ordeal!
The owner of Congo was told by someone that
he could use a mixture of tea tree and eucalyptus
on small cuts that may happen during clipping etc.
He
applied a drop of oil on cotton ball and applied
it to his birds bleeding nail. He found Congo at
the bottom of his cage when he returned 20 minutes
later. Congo was rushed to his avian vet and after
3 days of intensive care he managed to recover.
Congo
and his owner was extremely lucky, but many other
birds may not share the same fortune, so be wise
and careful.
We
strongly urge you not to use essential oils neat
(undiluted) or otherwise on your birds, exotic pets
or cats. We also suggest that you do you not use
hydrosols on or around your birds, cats or exotic
pets unless prescribed by your holistic doctor
or your canine's holistic veterinarian!
We
are owned by an Amazon Parrot named "Polly"
and the friendliest Parakeet named "Buddy"
and we never ever use essential oils, cleaning sprays,
room deodorizers near them. We also do not burn
incense around them. For further avian and feline
care, please visit the following web sites.
